Good Morning, Ladies and Gents, and welcome to the third day of our popular Trivia Quiz Show “Name the Town, Tune, Topic and Troubadour”, brought to you courtesy of Shannon-Travel, the Society of Displaced Germans in Massachusetts, the Baptist Gospel Hour and the Heinz Ketchup Corporation, with your host, yours truly, I don't think I have to introduce myself. Let me introduce our two sleuth contestants, on my left, the lovely Tina, representing the lowest of the lower Rhine Valley; and on my right, the not so lovely but nevertheless very orderly Gerhard, representing the “Bund Vertriebener Lindauer, Ortsgruppe Muenchen-Nord” (Applause! - enough!)
When last we met, both our contestants had made great progress towards solving the riddle and conquering the Grand Prize of this show: A wonderfully well worn CD, an authentic replica of the soon to be famous studio session recordings of this world renowned recording artist who is the subject of this enigma, which will surely be solved before the end of this program. (Appl ….. ah f*ck it)
Now, mind you, this Prize currently has a very modest retail value as this artist is still with us and is occasionally performing and re-recording his earlier works, some of his publications, indeed that which is the Prize here, may from time to time be found in the bargain bins of Overstock Sellers, although those replicas would not be as genuine and valuable as the authentic replica that is our Prize. But have no doubt, this Great Musical Rover of our times is soon to make the greatest career move any artist can make…. He will surely move on to perform in that Grand Ole Opry of the Sky with the likes of Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, John Lennon, George Harrison, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Warren Zevon,
Alexandra( who??), Chet Atkins, Townes van Zandt, Jerry Garcia, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, Mama Cass, Curt Cobain, just to name a few of our favorites that have passed on. And they will surely recognize HIM as an equal!! (Standing Ovation!!!!! Come on ye feckers, I’m working me ass off here!!!)
And then you will ask yourselves: Where was I when I had the chance to win this marvelous CD in that, oh so easy, contest? (Crowd shouts “Oh no, no!”)
